Chiropractic is a natural, drug-free, and holistic healthcare that focuses on the entire body. Chiropractic is based on the science that your nervous system controls and coordinates every function in your body from cells, to muscles, to tissues, and organs. Your nervous system acts as a computer and is made up of the brain, spinal cord and nerves that go to every part of your body. Chemical (food, drugs, etc), emotional (stress) and physical stressors (sleep, work, school, fitness) are put on your body every day and can affect it negatively. When the body can no longer handle and recover from these stressors by itself, a misalignment will occur in the spine. That misalignment is a small thing when it first happens, but if left uncorrected it cuts off the life energy from the brain to the body, leaving that part of the body working at less than 100%. If this process continues, the entire body works at less than its full potential which will begin to create symptoms like pain, sickness, muscle spasms, headaches, etc. With a simple, gentle chiropractic adjustment, the energy is released, and healing can now take place. When the nervous system works better, all systems in the body work better which allows each person to experience their full potential.

How is a chiropractic adjustment performed?

Dr. Monroe uses a variety of techniques to align and improve your body’s physical function. She may use her hands or a small instrument known as an activator to apply a controlled, force to the joint being adjusted. She may use a drop-table, and she may combine muscle therapy or massage with your adjustment to get the best result.

Activator Technique

The Activator Technique uses a small instrument known as an activator to apply a controlled force to the joint being adjusted. The benefit of the activator method is there is no weird positioning and it is so quick that your muscles won’t tense, making it a more effective adjustment.

Thompson Technique

The Thompson Technique utilizes a segmented drop-table that lowers the part of your body that is being adjusted. It is used to treat the pelvic, dorsal and lumbar regions of the spine. It requires less force than traditional chiropractic methods

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is used to treat sacroiliac joint dysfunction and dislocation. It is beneficial to pregnant patients and may help align the pelvis for optimal fetal positioning
